I know some of you probably have both Fargo and The Big Lebowski at home on your film shelves, but here's a chance to see them both as a double feature in Alabama.
Tomorrow night (Jan 12, 2004) doors will open at 6:30pm and the fun will kick off at 7:00pm at the Alabama Theater in Birmingham, AL. Caucasians will be sold for $6 and they'd love it if you came in costume. Check out the link below for more information and the theater's schedule for upcoming film series.
What's Inside Llewyn Davis? That'd be the Coen Brothers' next film, Donny. The casting call has been made and you have a chance to be in the film.
Let me repeat that - THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO ACT IN A COEN FILM.
Shooting will start Feb 4, 2012 and last through April 4, 2012. The first chance was last week, and your next opportunity is Jan 14th and 15th 2012 in New York City. Check the link below and let us know how it goes.
Last month the royal we received a press release from James Duncan regarding his new book, Am I a Dude? In true "dude" form I regrettably forgot to immediately share the news. Fortunately I'm finally getting around to it. Let us know if you've read it and what you thought.
Press Release: Within the world of children's literature, there are almost an infinite number of books geared towards teaching children proper values, but how many teach children to develop their own philosophy of inner peace, and relaxation. With the birth of Dudeism there was bound to come a culture of teaching, and as Dudeism continues to grow as the Number One religion based on a Jeff Bridges movie, we welcome the first in a series of books for children to answer the simple question "Am I a Dude?" With a little history, and a lot of fun, little Finnegan learns what a dude is, and where dudes came from. For those looking for more answers on the subject of Dude or Dudeism, please visit the Church of the Latter-Day Dude at dudeism.com.
Availability: The book is currently listed on Amazon.com as well as creatspace.com.
About the author: James Duncan lives in Montreal, Quebec with his lovely wife, two beautiful children, and a cat that likes to fur up their apartment! A Dudeist Priest since 2009, James looks for those little moments in life to find his bliss, whether it's working on his Comic journal 'MINE' at kaesye.com, or just finding happiness in moments with his loved ones.
Dudes - Entertainment Earth has great sale prices on most of their Lebowski items during Cyber Monday Week. Here's your chance to buy your special someone that bobblehead or action figure they've always wanted.

Do you live in New England? Do you love The Big Lebowski? Do you know about Viva Lebowski?
Last year Liz and I attended the first Viva Lebowski in Portland, ME and it was a very good time. Similar to a standard Lebowski Fest, Viva Lebowski has bowling, costumes, a viewing of the film, and lots of what have you. To top it off, proceeds go to a good cause. This year all ticket sales are going to the Maine Heart Association.
Even if you aren't local to Portland, ME - I can assure you it'll be worth the drive. Please consider checking out the party this weekend, December 3rd, at Bayside Bowl.
Just posted Episode 57 - LA Fest 2011. This is a short interview I did with Mrs Jamtoss recounting some of the events in LA this past September. This was my first Lebowski Fest in the city of angels, but I have been to LA a few times already. There was a small group of us Midwest folk: Founding dudes, Xal, Duder, Brad, Mrs J, and myself I think. We met up with some forum friends, and ate way too much In N Out. We had a wonderful time. DaFino even followed us around town.
This is part of us catching up on episodes from moving recently. I'll be posting one more episode before Thanksgiving, and then two more episodes next month before Christmas. Enjoy the holiday weekend and stay safe!
