Javier Bardem, that guy who haunts our dreams from No Country for Old Men, is returning to Spanish cinema in Alacran Enamorado (Scorpion in Love) which was written by his brother.  This is the first time Bardem has worked with a Spanish director since El Mar Adentro (The Sea Inside).  Here are some thoughts from the director Santiago Zannou:

"In my film (the character) is more realistic, not a wicked villain who wants to destroy the world, but an ordinary person. Those are the ones who truly frighten me, for having a type of ideology that separates people, that engenders violence," Zannou said.

If you're a fan of Bardem, I'd suggest checking out some of his other films including:

  • Collateral (2004)
  • The Sea Inside (2004)
  • Goy's Ghosts (2006)
  • Biutiful (2010)

There are just a few of his recent flicks I've seen and enjoyed.  I need to catch up on his older stuff.
